Suave products

My daughter loves to smell pretty ... and who wants to spend $14 a bottle for body wash and lotion that gets washed down the drain?
That's why we love Suave products ... they smell just as good as that other bath & body store and are 1/4 of the price!!!
Her favorite shampoo is also made by Suave ... Cowabunga Coconut " it smells just like the beach, momma!!"  It cleans her hair so well, even when she is the one rinsing it out.  The conditioner is just right for her kiddo hair ~ makes it easy to comb through when she gets out of the shower.  It doesn't sting her eyes either.
I like the body wash & lotion too!  My favorite is the Lavender & Vanilla ... It smells exactly like the purple product from that bath & body store!  The wash lathers up so nice and the lotion isn't greasy.  It's just perfect!
My husband hasn't tried the men's line yet ~ but as soon as he runs out of his current supply of man grooming products ... I will be loading up on Suave for him!!

So ... the next time you are ready for some new bath products ... Head to your local store and pick up some Suave items ... and see for yourself!!

Getting healthy

I've been walking for a while now ... tracking my miles on RunKeeper ( you can find me as Stacey B) and I'm coveting my friend's FitBit Flex ... but that's another story!

I say I've been walking for a while ~ but actually, I haven't for a month now.  I have a wonky ankle so I have been giving it a rest. My knees will ache when I'm done walking.  I have also been quite discouraged that my walking isn't making the numbers on the scale move ... like at all!  So ... I gave myself permission to take a break from it all.  I don't diet, so my eating habits haven't changed ... I just haven't been hitting the trail like I was ... and guess what!  The numbers STILL haven't moved!!

Anyway ... I received something in the mail a few weeks back that is making me break out the walking shoes and get moving again ...  The Dr Scholl's Active Series Insoles!!!

I have a reason to get started again ... I'm starting slowly ... not tracking or anything ... just getting back out there and moving.  I have been using the #ActiveSeries from Dr Scholls for a few weeks now ... and I see a difference.  My knees don't hurt and my feet are not as tired at the end of the day.  I'm not a runner ... even when I'm walking regularly ... I only jog for 90 seconds at a time ~ but I might be able to hit the pavement a little longer if my knees are not hurting!!  yay!!!

I totally recommend the Active Series if you are a walker, runner, hiker or really just on your feet moving for any length of time!  Go out and get yourself a pair!!

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster, but all opinions are mine!!

40 ... is great so far!

So ... Saturday was my birthday ... my 40th birthday.  I have never been one to worry about a number ... and this is no different.  I'm just happy to be here to celebrate it!!

The day started off with doughnuts from my favorite local shop ... apple fritter ~ my absolute favorite :)
My husband's best friend's parents invited us to a cook out, so we headed there for lunch.  It was a good time ~ I really like them and they love R like a grandchild!  It's great!!  We then headed to Columbus, I had something to return to Old Navy and so we made it a trip for that and my birthday dinner.  We made a meal of a couple appetizers from O'Charleys .. so good!!  We headed home and R had a great idea of starting a fire and having s'mores on the back deck.  What a wonderful idea!!  It was a great way to end our fun day!!

I will say ~ all the yummy food took it's toll on R's belly ... It wasn't pretty and I'm sure glad the hubby was here to clean it all up ... oof!

Meal Planning

Do you meal plan? I have been trying to do a better job at it.  I did pretty good 2 weeks ago ... made a few chances according to what I could find at the store ... chicken & noodles instead of beef & noodles because who wants to eat beef fat & noodles??  Then last week went kind of kooky .... I had planned for my husband to be gone Thurs - Sun due to National Guard drill ~ but the government decided to shutdown and as a result ~ drill was canceled ... never mind that the hubby is NOW LAID OFF until further notice. sigh

Anyway ~ when I went to plan out meals for this week ... I decided to bear down and really look at what we have in the freezer and pantry ... using what we have ~ hoping for a smaller grocery bill this week.

So here it goes ...

I found a roast in the freezer (SCORE!!) ... It's going to do double duty this week!!

Monday ~ Roast Beef sammies with onions & peppers

Tues ~ Veggie soup

Wed ~ Fish, fries & green beans

Thursday ~ Leftovers

Friday ~ Homemade Pizza

Sat ~ My birthday ~ so we'll see how it goes :)

Sun ~ Supper at mom & dad's

I am just getting the hang of this meal planning ~ so I just do one week at a time ...

What is on your menu this week??

Growing Pains

Last night while the hubby and I were enjoying  the Steelers v Bengals game, our little girl came out of her room ~ just a-crying!!  Poor little girl ... she was awake, but not.  She stumbled around the living room, wanting her daddy then me, but not really wanting either of us.  She was still sobbing ... just sobbing!!!!

My hubby finally got her to tell us  that her legs hurt. She was crying ... owie, owie, owie!

We got her into our bed ~ wanting to rub her legs, but DON'T TOUCH THEM!!  She finally settled in, snuggled next to daddy and out she was for the rest of the night.  I slept in her bed as she stayed with daddy.

She woke up this morning ~ just a-singing her little heart out.  She doesn't remember too much of how her legs were hurting last night and that is fine.  I am just glad that is over with.

I stated what was happening on Twitter-verse and I had a few responses of advice for the next time ... Arnica gel to rub on her legs and warm, heavy blankets to wrap around her legs.  I went out and found the gel today and I am now ready for it to happen again, because I know it will ... as she is growing like a weed.

Half way through

Can you believe we are half way  through with 2013??  We've spent the first 6 months of the year doing  the same thing as everyone else ~ celebrating various holidays,  dodging rain drops and living life.  We have also had a 5th birthday, Kindergarten registration, last day of preschool and graduation!!!  Just the in the month of June we have had VBS, Safety Town, swim lessons, play dates and birthday parties!!

I'm sure the next 6 months will be just as busy ... vacation, visiting family, local county fair, first day of school, concerts, birthdays and more holidays to celebrate!  Living life to the fullest!!

I'm trying Palmolive Softtouch

Disclosure:  I received these items complimentary from Influenster and that all opinions are my own.

I was excited to receive my box from Influenster a few weeks ago!  In it I found 2 bottles of Palmolive Softtouch dish soap and a few coupons to share with my friend!
It is no secret that I am not a fan of doing dishes ... but now ... there are no excuses!!

I tired the Vitamin E formula first ... Let me tell you ~ it is bubbly! and smells good! and leaves my hands super soft!!  It has become my favorite!!  The Aloe is just as bubbly and also smells good! It also leaves my hands feeling good, not dried out after using it!!

The catch line of "Tough on Grease, Soft on Hands" is so true!!  I couldn't believe how well it washed all my dishes ... even that skillet I used to fry bacon and my hands still felt good afterwards!!

You can learn more by checking out this website  http://www.colgate.com/app/Palmolive/US/EN/HomePage.cwsp#softTouch

I have seen this product at WalMart ... Run out and get some to try from yourself!!

I have no idea what I'm doing ....

I'm not sure what I will use this blog for ... I'm sure I will be sporadic ... but sometimes I just need an outlet for my thoughts
